@chelseahandler More There is an entire generation of children who’s first memory of their President is a man who supports child molestors, wife beaters, Russian hacking, and porn stars. It is our responsibility to make that a memory and not a consistency. We all have a moral obligation. Keep going.

It has been impossible to avoid what I see brewing over Chelsea Handler’s comments about the president & the words porn star being used in her statement about our president. In the business, people are pressuring others to speak out and in a sense lash out on social media. I’ve read endless comments and saw even more retweets with the message of “porn stars unite” etc. I am reading how many people in the industry in pure furry over this comment.

Let just say, when I read the initial statement I, myself, a now active again porn star,  was in no way, ashamed or offended. As I went down the rabbit hole online I continued to question myself and I repeatedly went back to read her statement again. Asking myself over and over, “why I am not offended, more so, why is everyone else so offended.”

The final conclusion, I am just NOT. Not offended. Those are just words in a statement. I can’t choose the words of others, but I can choose how they affect me. She was not speaking about me, so why should I choose to take offense. I am not easily emotionally moved by the words of other negatively or positivity. Especially people I don’t even know. It’s all a bit assuming, in my humble opinion to take something so personally. More so as a culture am I the only one that thinks we have all be come a bit sensitive, it’s like the world is under a microscope with their words. I live in that fear. I barely speak of things on social media that may affect one person causing a reaction similar to this.

The industry as a group has been preoccupied with lashing out. I have been the target & I am sure I will be again. I watched Rashida Jones be a target & everyone who seems to have a view that does not agree with the view of my colleagues. What I have also noticed over the past events of lashing out, it seems to circle in the same names. They have an opinion about everyone who doesn’t agree with their mindset and that fact alone is toxic. Counterproductive, negative & a waste of energy. When did we become so fearful. When did we, as a group, require so much acceptance.

That brings me to the next step, the mob like mentality. Now I have faced it head on and I can tell you point blank, it is  not pleasant, I don’t wish it on anyone. This may be why I have more empathy in situations just like this one & I also put myself in the shoes of Chelsea Handler. With that said, I live in my shoes as a porn star. I get it, full circle, the good the bad and the ugly. Obviously I am not out there looking for approval and expecting the world to get or relate to my mindset. So my jam, may just be someone else’s joke. Who the fuck cares? Not me! Definately  not enough to ever Join a pack and take part in this mob like mentality. That in itself is just bullying in a different outfit.

I have a better solution for everyone, channel that energy elsewhere. There has to be something more positive you could be doing on social media. Unfollow people you don’t like, instead of verbally vomiting all over their timeline. You have a choice to not support a product or a brand at anytime in your life, have some style and make that choice with grace & peace in silence.

This is my suggestion, it’s how I live, not telling anyone what to do, how to live or any of those things. I can tell you this, I am a happy person because of the choices I make, I like the way it feels & when I see a cloud I just like to wait it out so I can see the rainbow at the end of all of it all.

If you want to look at it in an entirely different way, choose this. This is the first time in American history where the words porn stars were used in collaboration with the President of the United States. This will go down in this history books, for what ever that’s  worth. This little incident put one of my colleagues Stormy Daniels on Jimmy Kimmel’s show! That in itself is a pretty big leap for our industry. This affects the positive in the world of the adult business, by bringing an influx of money to the clubs where Stormy Daniels is appearing & hopefully sell some movies, helping out every brick & mortar stores all over the US! Our colleague, Stormy Daniles is making lemonade out of lemons & I am watching it all in total awe. I want her to make that money, I am excited to see this for her, as she is a woman I the industry I have always respected & adored. I see a little success story here brewing & that makes me way more happy than Handler’s comments making me feel a negative thought. I see the positive here!

There is a silver lining in everything. Sometimes you have to take a beat to see it. It is also easier to see the positive when you take that beat & don’t have the knee jerk reaction that points to the obvious “Mob Like Mentality” trigger, that just creates more bullying, more hatred & more negative emotions.

Instead of playing along, I am taking a stance. My production company will be donating a portion of my proceeds every month, the first month to Anti Bullying dedicated to August Ames. Through this I have been learning about Anti Bullying Campaigns & I am on a waiting list for classes I plan to take to educate myself on how to help others.

This is my first step.

Just Say NO to Bullying of any form.
